I feel a little inspired to keep moving forward with my studies in drawing thanks to the drawing a drawing project. I have been working on my homework for my advanced graphic design course that I am taking here at Polimi. It's more design than drawing, the lecturer gave us these photocopied images to work from and we are suppose to do the levels of shadow the first level is the darkest and we use only lines to fill in the shadow spaces etc. It's very basic for an "advanced" class but it never hurts to go over the basics. So these are my two homework pieces that I have completed.
This first one is the level one image so the darkest parts of the image are hatched and the rest is left plank.
This second one I did while still in class and I like this one the best I used smaller lines and there are more levels of shadow which means more detail so that is why I like this one more than the first. All the lines used to shape the model are vertical lines and the only horizontal lines in the image are those used to define the background.
Two more days of class and then it is off to Paris for the weekend. I might have said this before but I am the luckiest exchange student ever! I have a 4 day weekend which means travelling is so much easier for me than others that have to miss classes occasionally to travel. I am excited for this weekend because I am going to Disneyland for the first time in my life, yes I am a child in a woman's body! I love Disney!
Until next time
