Homework - Light and shadow, Lines and texture. One directional line work light and shadow.

This time I used a family photo of my parents I am not sure I like the method that the teacher uses/ wants us to use. But I am liking experimenting with textures and I am learning some new ways to do things. I was thinking that I might try this photo again and approach it another way and see how that effects the out come and this is what I came up with. This was a little more time consuming that the other approach so this time I just did a single portrait of my mothers face. I think that I like the colours better this time round and it looks more finished than the first attempt at this type of sketching.
